Chapter 9: The Boy From the Other Side
He fell from the top of the Wall at midday.
Sera caught him more by instinct than intent, and they both crashed to the ground in a heap. The boy was young — fifteen, maybe sixteen — with dust in his hair and wide, colorless eyes.
"You came from up there?" Sera demanded. He looked at the Wall, then at her, then at Ash. When he saw the cat, something shifted in his expression. Fear. Then something older than fear. "You have one," he whispered. "A Wall-Walker. That means you're the one she warned us about."
